You might need a faster reader if you are burning disc to disc. If you are coping to your harddrive first, which would be smart considering your problems, the speed does not matter. CDR-WIN is probably the best software out for this, other people say Nero, pagasus, etc. Do you have your settings right on it?

I am trying to burn them by either burning disc to disc, or from wav files on the hard drive, seem s to make little differnece. I have tried all types of software (Adaptec, Nero and Furia)and blank media (many kinds), but have as yet failed to get satisfactory cd audio reproduction.

Burn failure: Illegal disc
The only downside of using disk-at-once is that it's a little more demanding on your machine, and if your PC is an older machine with a slower CPU and less memory then you might have problems burning in disk-at-once mode... but any reasonably up-to-date machine should be fine.

However,
the WMA discs that I burned with Nero Express were nearly instantaneous as I inserted the disc and the music began to play, almost immediately. Nero Express has Audio CD, Audio + data, MP3, or WMA as options for burning discs, and the WMA option worked amazingly for burning a disc of WMA files,

OK, so I've got this stupid fucking program called Nero, which I believe is Latin for "goddamn worthless piece of fucking shitfuck", and it seems that it no longer enjoys the idea of burning Disc-At-Once. I've had no problem with this damn thing before, not a single coaster, but a couple weeks ago, for no reason I

I used the CD-RW disc which came with my Plextor 121032a (Verbatim, rated at 10x). I did a 15 track AudioCD burn (67 minutes, 40 seconds) Using Nero 5.0.2.4. at 10x from wav files which I had pre-extracted (Using WinDAC). While burning, I did this: 1) 2 windows of Netscape opening Newsgroups and replying.

{{ I simply went to E: drive and then copied the whole disc content to a folder. You cannot do that. I would start Nero, and choose "Save Track As", and then pick the .wav format. Are you having trouble with that step? {{{ It's amateur hour here.......I thought Nero was only for burning disc-to-disc.

You need to erase the disc at the right speed. If the disc is marked UltraSpeed (or 16x-24x), erase it at 24x. If the disc is marked HighSpeed (or 4x-12x), erase it at 12x. If the disc is marked 1x-4x, erase it at 4x. After a successful erase, check the disc with Nero CD-DVD Speed and see if "Write speeds" are

Dave It sounds like a CD burning issue, because I haven't had any problems with Live Phish downloads. You have to find out how to burn "Disk at Once", or with my software (Nero) you can highlight all the tracks (except the first one)and under properties enter "0" under "pause".
